Movie Review – The Dead Don’t Die

‘The Dead Don’t Die’ is so self aware, it’s hard not to crack a smile while watching it. Just when I think the zombie genre has nothing left to offer, this movie arrives with dead pan humor and a star studded cast (most of whom die off screen, I’m looking at you Selena Gomez).

The plot is simple. Zombies arrive. The small town cops have to figure out what is going to and how to survive. People die. Tilda Swinton is still Tilda Swinton. And Iggy Pop is a zombie.

Honestly, this one had me at Iggy Pop and Tilda Swinton. The rest was just an added bonus. Bill Murray might have phoned this one in a little, but the style of the movie is such that you hardly notice.
