Thorns and Snow

Snow begins to fall from the sky, covering the ground with pristine white. Lurking below the beauty is frozen world of black ice lying in wait for unsuspecting passerby.

Been an interesting winter here in the Twin Cities, not that that’s anything new. I find myself remembering the winter of 2014 when my patio door was covered by snow drift. That winter left a frozen thorn in my side.

The memory of it, the constant snow that started in October and fell well into May, makes the polar vortex not seem so bad. I could do without the ice rink that is Minneapolis right now, but at least I can still get sunlight through my patio door. That is something to be thankful for.
